Care for Some?

In my attempt to eat healthier and exercise more, Brian let me know about an interesting product available to the health-food-eating public. A company called Logia claims to have used Scripture to produce meal replacement powder and snack foods that are made from foods God has called “good”, which, in their opinion, means that these specific foods contain optimum nutritional value and other health benefits. Quite a claim, eh?

I was particularly [not] impressed with “Noah’s Nuggets” and “Seeds of Samson”. Logia’s best-known product is the Bible Bar. Of the Bible Bar, this is said on the website:

Each bar is bursting with God-given nutrients: protein, monounsaturated fats, complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phytonutrients, and fiber. But yet, it is so much more than just a health bar. God obviously had some very important reasons for linking these seven foods to the Promised Land. Therefore, when you eat a Bible Bar, you are consuming seven foods that God called good and in a form that is easy and convenient to use.

Reading that, I was reminded of Peter’s vision in Acts 10, wherein God told Peter that all things were clean and told him to “rise, kill, and eat”. I realize that God was telling this to Peter to teach him about accepting Gentiles into the faith. Peter’s diet was not the focus of the lesson, despite the imagery. Perhaps the same could be said of the Promised Land passage used by Logia, Deuteronomy 8:7, 8.

I’d encourage you, for the sake of your health*, to peruse the Logia website and carefully read what they have to say about their products. It may do you good.

*A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. (Proverbs 17:22, KJV)

My blog. Herein read entries related to who and what is important to me. Feel free to leave comments. I feel free to delete them if I don't like them. So there. By reading about my life, readers should expect to begin to see their own lives as increasingly more organized and sophisticated, their homes cleaner and neater.

Why This Blog?

Well, mostly this is for my family to see pictures and read anecdotes about the kids. It's also a venue for telling the story of my struggles and victories in my life as a Christian, a wife, a mother, and a teacher. Occasionally I toss in some weird or touching item that I've found.

What’s Christianity All About?

The Gospel is the news that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy. [as said by John Piper]
