Benaiah Update

Please continue to pray for Benaiah, our teenage friend who’s recovering from a brain injury that he got in March. Here’s a quote from his dad Kevin, posted on their CaringBridge site:

“Benaiah is very passive lately, I called neurosurgery today to see if we could see them tomorrow when we go to Dartmouth for his other appointments. He still has an excess of fluid where they changed his shunt and today he had some swelling under his temple where the bone was removed and replaced. We walk everyday, but he is not progressing as expected, we need to prod him to keep his head up and he refuses to speak more and more. Hopefully we will get some answers tomorrow, we see the neuro doctor that deals with siezures, and I plan to ask specific questions about the possible effects from his meds.”

Benaiah and his family are really on my heart today. Maybe it’s because it’s becoming autumn, and I’m thinking of other autumns, like the time Teresa (Benaiah’s mom) helped me move into my freshman dorm. Or because soon I’ll start homeschooling, and Teresa and Kevin were the first family I knew who homeschooled. Whatever the reason, take a second or three to lift them up to the Father who made Benaiah, loves him, and who has allowed all this to happen in order to bring glory to himself.

My blog. Herein read entries related to who and what is important to me. Feel free to leave comments. I feel free to delete them if I don't like them. So there. By reading about my life, readers should expect to begin to see their own lives as increasingly more organized and sophisticated, their homes cleaner and neater.

Why This Blog?

Well, mostly this is for my family to see pictures and read anecdotes about the kids. It's also a venue for telling the story of my struggles and victories in my life as a Christian, a wife, a mother, and a teacher. Occasionally I toss in some weird or touching item that I've found.

What’s Christianity All About?

The Gospel is the news that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy. [as said by John Piper]
