What I’m Reading

Way back when I announced my intentions to read Bleak House, by Dickens. Some Windsorite had it out for forty forevers and finally got it back to the library, so I have the copy in my hot little hands. I’m not reading it though. Trouble is, I got into the Harry Potter series.

I read the first one (which I shall hereafter refer to as HP1) ages ago, and didn’t like it all that much. Then I saw he movie of HP2. I thought it was fun, entertaining, and happily devoid of lots of stuff I find yucky in movies these days. So, when Bleak House took so long turning up at the library, I grabbed HP3. Liked it a whole lot. Brian read it too, and enjoyed it (despite the fact that I thought he was done and returned it prematurely…don’t worry; I got it back for him). Now I’m about 3/4 done with HP4, and I will readily admit that I am a fan. They’re getting more grown up, I’ve noticed. Only makes sense, I suppose, as the boy wonder himself has matured as well.

My desire to finish this book has made me a grumpy mommy. It might look like I am here with my kids, but my mind is at Hogwarts. This is not the fault of the book, although it’s the sort of thing that might happen in the book due to some kind of charm. I just like it, that’s all.

Speaking of kids, Gannon just came in and said, “Mom, come see what Acadia is doing.” This is never good, so I’d better go.

I am *SO* happy you are enjoying the books! Now you have to go watch the movies again and see how they butchered the book. Though HP:GoF was a good book to movie.
    Keep reading! Ejnoy!

RUNNING HOME

My blog. Herein read entries related to who and what is important to me. Feel free to leave comments. I feel free to delete them if I don't like them. So there. By reading about my life, readers should expect to begin to see their own lives as increasingly more organized and sophisticated, their homes cleaner and neater.

Why This Blog?

Well, mostly this is for my family to see pictures and read anecdotes about the kids. It's also a venue for telling the story of my struggles and victories in my life as a Christian, a wife, a mother, and a teacher. Occasionally I toss in some weird or touching item that I've found.

What’s Christianity All About?

The Gospel is the news that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy. [as said by John Piper]
