Monday Morning

Random thought: I just noticed how closely the word blog resembles the word Borg. Hmmm…

It’s another snowy day here in the Winter Wonderland. The resort must be loving it. Cold-weather sports enthusiasts come from far and wide to stop in my driveway and ask for directions. One of these days I’ll tell them they’ve indeed arrived at Mount Ascutney Ski Resort, parking is over there, breakfast is at 7. Sorry, Visa and MasterCard not accepted, cash only, please.

When I was a kid I lived directly down the road from another, much hokier, tourist attraction: Ruggles Mine. Their busiest time was summer, and my brother and I, being good entrepreneurial Americans, profited from their labors by setting up a lemonade stand by the side of the road in front of our house. We’d make quite a bit of money when you consider that we charged 10 cents per cup. I wonder if my kids will have the same idea. [Cut to outdoor winter shot of two children in snowsuits, huddled next to a card table whereupon sit a dozen Dixie cups of yellow Kool-Aid, frozen solid….municipal sand/salt truck whooshes by, throwing snow over the pair] Er, probably not.

My blog. Herein read entries related to who and what is important to me. Feel free to leave comments. I feel free to delete them if I don't like them. So there. By reading about my life, readers should expect to begin to see their own lives as increasingly more organized and sophisticated, their homes cleaner and neater.

Why This Blog?

Well, mostly this is for my family to see pictures and read anecdotes about the kids. It's also a venue for telling the story of my struggles and victories in my life as a Christian, a wife, a mother, and a teacher. Occasionally I toss in some weird or touching item that I've found.

What’s Christianity All About?

The Gospel is the news that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy. [as said by John Piper]
